I had a weird Saturday. I received a notice via snail mail that I am eligible to receive a settlement from a copyright lawsuit against Anthropic. I was stunned, and maybe just a tad bit excited that, finally, I would make money from my books (beyond the meager advance I received from the publisher). As it turns out, only one of my titles is included in the settlement, and frankly, I was insulted because I don’t even consider it my best work. If you’re going to steal from me, at least pick one of my better written books.
If you’re an author, whether traditionally published or self-published, here’s a link to information about the settlement: Anthropic Copyright Settlement Website. There you’ll find a link to a searchable database of all titles included in the settlement. There are a number of different parameters you can use to search, but the most effective is searching by ISBN. If you’re unsure of your book’s ISBN, you can usually find it on online retailers’ websites. Good luck!!
